Artist Statement & Bio

Art is all about experimenting; finding oneself and one's voice through the creative process. For me, making art is a Sacred act that encompasses ritual, meditation, introspection, openness, and acceptance. My art is an ever-evolving practice, acting as both teacher and healer as I wander through its eternal journey.
I draw inspiration from  my experiences with complex chronic illness and disability, multi-modality healing, the natural world, my mother's artwork, mysticism and the occult, and my ancestral heritage.
There are no boxes in creating, which is perhaps what makes art such a beautifully imperfect thing. Whatever the end result is, even if it's broken or full of mistakes, is a creation from within, and holds in it the artists spirit. It is a divine act of love, trust, forgiveness, and intuition. We are all artists in our own right.
My art reflects struggles, triumphs, teachings, fears, losses, and the exploration of, and connection to Spirit. It is deeply personal, political, and spiritual.
